LAHORE: Police on Tuesday made comprehensive security arrangements for Christmas and deployed additional security personnel at churches and public places. More than 5,600 policemen were deployed at churches in the city.
Police’s presence at public places, including parks, was made more effective. Security was also tightened at all entry and exit points of the provincial capital and special checking of vehicles had been ordered.
All superintendents of police, sub-divisional police officers and station house officers made arrangements for effective patrolling in their respective areas. Plainclothesmen also performed duties outside churches and at public places.
All hotels and guesthouses were also thoroughly searched for suspects. Christians expressed satisfaction over security arrangements and said they were happy with the cooperation of city police.
