Robber arrested

OKARA: Okara police claimed to have arrested a robber who was injured after robber’s vehicle overturned during a police chase.

Robbers had entered the gold market, Renala Khurd, on Saturday night and tried to cut locks of the shops when nightwatchman Muhammad Zubair saw them and informed police. At this, the robbers fled in their car while police started chasing them.

Their vehicle turned turtle on the GT Road and one of the robbers was injured. His accomplices escaped, leaving him behind in an unconscious state. Police took the injured robber into custody and shifted him to the DHQ hospital.

District Police Officer Babar Bakht Qureshi said the arrested robber looked to be an Afghani and police had recovered the iron cutter, various cell phone SIM cards from him.
