LAHORE: City traffic police registered 22 cases and ticketed 916 motorcyclists besides impounding 1301 motorcycles for violating a ban on pillion riding on Ashura.
According to a CTP spokesperson, action was also taken against 103 motorcyclists for riding bikes without number plates in the City.
Chief Traffic Officer Capt (r) Suhail Chuudhry said on Monday that traffic police also launched crackdown against tinted glasses and suspected umber plates on Ashura.
He also urged people to take guidance from traffic helpline and traffic radio before going out during rush hours.
