NAP only way out: DIG

LAHORE: Operations DIG Haider Ashraf has said the war against terrorism cannot be won without implementing the National Action plan in letter and spirit.
 
He said this while chairing a meeting to review law and order situation in the city and execution of the National Action Plan, held here on Monday.
 
Operations SSP Baqir Raza, Headquarters SP Umer Said and all divisional SPs, circle officers and SHOs attended the meeting.
 
Ashraf said they could not defeat their enemies without people's cooperation. They had to unite to fight this war, he said, He said the police had to stop illegal use of loudspeakers and spreading of hate literature and extremism at all costs.
 
He asked the police officers to meet religious scholars, mosque committees and imams to ensure enforcement of the Loudspeaker Act. He ordered a crackdown on persons spreading hate literature, making inflammatory speeches, displaying objectionable banners and chalking walls.
 
Raza said the NAP was only aimed at destroying the enemies of the country. He said the citizens should help state-institutions to save their future.
 
The DIG asked all the police officers to arrest proclaimed offenders as early as possible. He also sought diary of search operations launched in this context on a daily basis.
