Four kidnappers of trader held

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 27 : Four accused involved in the kidnapping of a poultry feed trader for ransom were arrested  in Shorkot village, Jhang, on Wednesday.

Sources in Chuttiana police said Nasir Mahmood was kidnapped from his village 408-JB when he was gong to his office on Toba-Waryamwala Road some two months back. The kidnappers demanded Rs.20 million for his release.

Mahmood was released after his family paid Rs.2.5 million, the amount finally settled with kidnappers.

Mahmood had informed the police investigation team that during his detention he heard announcement from a mosque loudspeaker about the funeral prayers of a man who would provide him meal.

After confirming about the episode, the police raided Chak 5-JB, Gagh, in Shorkot area and arrested four accused, recovered Rs.1 million and a car used in the kidnapping.

Their two accomplices, who belong to Toba, could not be arrested and it is feared that they may be absconded abroad.

A police official did not tell the names of the arrested accused and said the investigation was under way.
