A notorious gang involved in street crime was busted and three of its members, including the ringleader, were arrested by the Mughalpura Police on Tuesday.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused named Murtaza alias Kali, Adnan alias Mota and Naveed Heera confessed to committing at least 21 crimes in different parts of the City. Stolen gold ornaments, automatic sophisticated firearms, cell phones, cash and other valuables were also recovered from their possession.
Earlier, following directions by Lahore DIG Muhammad Tahir Rai, Civil Lines Division SP (operations) Abdul Qadir Qamar constituted special police teams with instructions to launch crackdown against the gangsters involved in street crimes, armed robberies, rapes and murders.
During the crackdown, police successfully nabbed the gangsters and recovered aforesaid valuables from their possession. The Lahore DIG has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the raiding police teams.
