Seeks girl as ransom

LAHORE, Sept 28: South Cantonment police have recovered a 12-year-old boy and arrested the kidnapper nine days after the incident.

Talking to reporters on Friday at his office, Cantonment SP (Investigation) Fida Husain said that accused Nauman of Goha Wala had demanded a girl for the safe release of the kidnapped boy.

He said the accused had kidnapped his neighbour's son on Sept 9 and took him to Sheikhupura from where he rang his father to bring his niece at a designated place.

The kidnapper kept on changing the location which caused problems to a police team, the SP said.

He said the police finally located the house of accused's friend in Sheikhupura and recovered the boy, but the kidnapper managed to escape.

He said the police team traced the accused with the help of his friend and arrested him from the same district.

Meanwhile, the SP said the Factory Area police arrested a man, Rizwan, of Walton Road, and his woman accomplice who had killed his grandmother to grub her two-and-a-half marla property.

The accused had strangulated Nawab Bibi at her residence.

In another case, the SP said the South Cantonment police traced the kidnap case of a woman within 24 hours and recovered her from a house of her relative.

He said the cash reward would be given to Sub-Inspector Ishaq for resolving the mystery of girl's kidnap within a short period.
