Police bust rustlers’ gang

LAHORE – In a major development on Friday, the police have smashed an inter-district gang of dacoits by arresting its seven members involved in several cases of cattle-lifting in the southern Punjab.

The police have also arrested a most wanted proclaimed offender during a successful operation carried out in Khanewal district. District Police Officer (DPO) Khanewal, Muhammad Waqar Abbasi, said on Friday that a special police team was constituted to track down the gangsters involved in committing armed robberies and snatching cattle-heads at gunpoint from the farmers in different areas of the southern Punjab.

According to an official handout issued in this regard from the office of the District Police Officer, the police team comprising senior officials collected particulars of this gang and carried raided simultaneous raids in different parts of Khanewal district and arrested five gangsters.
