LAHORE – Punjab Highway Patrol foiled a road dacoity after facing a brief encounter with a dacoit gang on Friday.
PHP team Ahmad Saleem Shaheed, Sargodha received information from a car driver coming from Sargodha that some unknown accused were committing dacoity on national highway at a distance of few kilometers and had also tried to stop his car but he succeeded to escape.
On this, the PHP team reached the spot immediately and found that five to six persons had stopped a truck for the purpose of dacoity near Nulaka Adda Stop. On seeing the PHP team, the accused opened indiscriminate firing at the PHP team.
The PHP team also fired in retaliation but the miscreants managed to flee away in the nearby fields by taking the advantage of darkness.
