CTO urges people to get computerised licences

LAHORE – Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr Usman Anwar on Wednesday urged citizens, particularly motorists, to replace their manual driving licences with computerised ones, so that the department could better facilitate them.
 
According to an official handout, the CTO said the move was aimed at saving the record of motorist licence-holders in the Punjab capital. He stated that computerised licence-holders would immediately get a duplicate of their licence if it was lost. In the regard, a special booth had been established for senior citizens, he added.
 
Dr Anwar said traffic offices would remain operational from 8:00am to 4:00pm for this purpose and instructions had been issued to the officials deputed at such booths. “Parents should advise their children to abide by traffic rules and regulations, as well as cooperate with the City Traffic Police Lahore.
