Police to hold ceremonies in honour of martyrs

Lahore: Police will hold ceremonies in honour of martyrs to recognise sacrifices and express solidarity with families on December 13.
 
This was decided in a meeting held at Central Police Office here on Thursday.
 
In a meeting led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, it was decided that the DPOs would lay wreath at Yadgar-e-Shohada and pay salutes to all martyrs in all police lines in Punjab.
 
All field officers will arrange special functions with families, the widows and children of martyrs. The meeting also decided to pay educational scholarships to the children of the martyrs.
 
Upgradation of the police website was also discussed and it was decided that pictures and addresses of unclaimed bodies, proclaimed offenders of black and red books, criminals involved in property, street crime and others would be uploaded at the website.
 
Additional IGP Establishment Punjab Nasim-ul-Zaman, Additional IGP Operations and Investigation Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP PHP Dr Arif Mushtaq, Additional IGP Legal Ali Zulnorain, DIG Headquarters Farooq Mazhar, DIG Welfare and Finance Jan Muhammad, DIG Establishment Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Training Saad Akhter Bherwana, DIG IT Shahid Hanif, DIG Investigations Shafique Ahmad Gujjar and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
