Security for Chinese experts reviewed

Lahore: DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf has ordered SHOs, DSPs and all divisional SPs to follow standard operating procedure formulated for the security of Chinese experts working at different governmental and private projects in the city.

He was presiding over a meeting at Police Lines Qila Gujjar SIngh on Thursday. SP (Security) Liaquat Ali Malik and other divisional SPs participated in the meeting.

The foreigners will have to inform the security desk establishment in the DIG (Operations) office about their movements in the city through the focal person named by them.

More than 1000 Chinese experts have been working on 65 projects --22 in the government and 43 in the private sector - going on in different parts of the city.

The DIG said he along with the DCO would visit all the governmental and private projects to review the security arrangements for all the Chinese experts working there.

He said SPs should personnaly review the arrangements in place for the security of all foreign experts. There should be CCTV cameras at the work places and the residences of the foreigners and additional force be deputed to enhance their security. 

He said no Chinese expert would leave the work place without police squad.

The DIG appointed Model Town SP (Operations) Mustansar Feroze as focal person for establishing digital beat system in all the police stations of the city.
