80 suspects held after bomb blast

POLICE arrested at least 80 suspects from various parts of the city and beefed up security at Sunday bazaars and important buildings after Saturday’s bomb explosion at Old Anarkali Food Street.
 
The arrested persons did not have proper identification documents, police said and added that some of them belonged to Afghanistan. Police also took many unclaimed bikes and cycles into custody from the site of the bomb blast.
 
Meanwhile, 30 victims were treated in Mayo Hospital and six each were being treated in Ganga Ram Hospital and Services Hospital. The condition of eight victims admitted to Mayo Hospital was stated to be precarious. Three persons including a five-year-old girl were killed and 44 others sustained multiple injuries in a remote-controlled bomb blast in the Old Anarkali Food Street Saturday night. The girl died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries at Mayo Hospital.
