Under the supervision of IG Punjab, the mission of Drug Free Punjab is rapidly progressing

Punjab Police teams conducted 527 raids on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province, 259 cases were registered, 261 culprits were arrested in the previous 24 hours, spokesman of Punjab Police.

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that according to the vision of chief minister Punjab mission of Drug Free Punjab will be accomplished soon. IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that in order to keep the young generation safe from drugs, the police crackdown is ongoing throughout the province including Lahore. Spokesman Punjab Police said that 527 raids were conducted by police teams on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province yesterday, 259 cases were registered against the people involved in the drug trade and 261 accused were arrested.140 kg of charas, one and a half kg of ICE, 22 kg of opium and 3974 liters of alcohol were recovered from the possession of drug dealers.

Spokesman Punjab Police further said that during the last four weeks, 6691 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province. 3421 cases were registered against the accused involved in drug trade and 3804 accused were arrested, while 2807 kg of charas, 14 kg of Ice, 55 kg of heroin, 149 kg of opium and 38205 liters of alcohol were recovered from the possession of the accused. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to accelerate the targeted operations to protect the young generation from drug addiction. IGP Punjab said that intelligence-based operations should be conducted in the vicinity of educational institutions and hostels, especially the accused involved in the production and supply of modern addictive flavored drugs should be brought to justice.
