Punjab Police ensured the excellent arrangements for the peaceful & transparent conduct of by-elections across the province.

 On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Police teams ensured the excellent security arrangements across the province on the occasion of by-election 2024. Out of 2599 polling stations of Punjab, 419 were declared as highly sensitive while 1081 were declared as sensitive, where police teams remained on high alert and performed their duties more diligently. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that punjab police provided excellent security to all 663 male, 649 female, and 1289 joint polling stations for by-election in concerned districts along with full security to the election staff. A large number of citizens from more than 4 million 44 thousand registered voters exercised their right to vote at these polling stations. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Punjab Police had completed their preparations ahead of time for the peaceful, transparent, and safe conduct of the by-elections. More than 35,000 officers and officials, including ladies police personnel, were deployed for by-election security.

IG Punjab said that Punjab police officers helped disabled and elderly weak people who came to the polling stations to fulfil their national duty. CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs kept monitoring the security and traffic arrangements themselves. Security has been increased throughout the province, including the provincial capital, while keeping a close eye on the anti-peace elements. Indiscriminate action has been taken against the attempts to obstruct the election process. A peaceful and transparent polling process was ensured with the cooperation of allied departments, armed forces, and security agencies. Dr. Usman Anwar said that full security was provided to the voters, polling staff, and citizens. RPOs, DPOs, CTOs, and senior officers reviewed all arrangements themselves, while additional personnel, Dolphin Force, Quick Response, and other teams were deployed at sensitive polling stations. Dr. Usman Anwar said that monitoring of election process and security arrangements continued from provincial, regional, divisional, and CPO control rooms, and strict compliance on Election Commission's code of conduct was ensured. Dr. Usman Anwar said that indiscriminate actions were ensured according to the government. directions against the display of weapons, aerial firing, fights, and sabotage of the election process.

Dr. Usman Anwar further said that the process of strict surveillance continued at the border areas check posts to prevent anti-national and evil elements. Police officers remained in full contact with all institutions, including security agencies, armed forces, district administration, and police teams, which remained at duty points until the polling process was completed. The polling process of by-election 2024 under the supervision of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has reached its end in a peaceful and transparent manner under strict security of Punjab Police.Effective measures were to maintain the flow of traffic on all highways and public places. After the completion of the election process, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar issued directions to put the security on high alert for the process of counting the votes. IG Punjab directed to ensure the strict compliance of election Commission's code of conduct in all constituencies of the by-elections, take immediate action on violation of aerial firing, display of weapons. IG Punjab said to keep a close watch on the evil elements and suspects, make checking on check posts more strict.
