Lahore: A Pakistani businessman residing in UK Zahir Ahmed called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Thursday.
The chief minister handed over a cheque of Rs 50.8 million, given as ransom and recovered through a joint action by the Lahore Police and Overseas Pakistanis’ Commission Punjab, to Zahir Ahmed.
Sharif appreciated the performance of the Lahore Police and Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab on recovery of Rs 50.8 million and gave ‘kudos’ to Inspector General Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhaira, CCPO Lahore Capt (r) Amin Wains, Commissioner Overseas Pakistani Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti, Director General Policing Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, DIG Capt (r) Mubeen, SP CIA Umar Virk, DSP CIA Tariq Kayani and Inspector Sharjeel.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that due to timely action by the police and Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, the grievance of Pakistani businessman residing in UK Zahir Ahmed had been redressed.
