Security force at MBS route

LAHORE, Dec 6: Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Aslam Tareen and DIG Operations Muhammad Tahir Rai visited the Metro Bus Service route on Thursday and checked the duty of special security force deployed there for the protection of citizens.

The CCPO said the police force formed to provide security to citizens should fulfill their responsibilities like worship as no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

The DIG Operations informed the CCPO that around 335 officials led by an inspector would perform their duty on 12 beats of the MBS route.

He said that four officials on two bikes would keep a constant vigil on suspects and other security-related issues in each beat.

He said an in-charge sub-inspector along with other officials would patrol six beats and monitor the performance of officials.

Mr Rai said the said force would not only provide security to passengers but also to contractors working on the route.

The CCPO directed the officers to ensure the provision of all facilities to citizens on the MBS route in order to make their journey safe and comfortable.

He asked the officers to interact with the LDA, Rescue 1122 and the traffic police as well.

CAMPAIGN: CCPO Aslam Tareen and Chief Traffic Officer Sohail Chaudhry launched a campaign under the title “Helmet for All” at the Assembly Hall Chowk on Thursday to sensitize citizens about the road safety.

They also distributed free helmets among bike riders.

The CCPO said that motorcyclists should realize their importance and wear helmets while travelling on roads for their own and others safety.

He directed the city traffic police to make every effort to create awareness among the masses about adopting safety measures.
