Police directed to submit challans in courts

LAHORE–Capital City Police Officer has ordered City Police to accelerate the pace of submission of challans of heinous cases to courts, and conducting investigation of the cases purely on merit.

The CCPO also directed the police officers to ensure their presence in courts, along with relevant files of the cases, at every judicial hearing, whereas submission of challans in the courts, within 14 days, should also been ensured. He warned that dereliction of duty in this regard would be proceeded against at the departmental level promptly.

According to the details, in light of court orders, Ahmad Raza Tahir further directed DIG Operations and DIG Investigations to ensure presence of all investigating and other police officers on the fixed dates at concerned courts with relevant record. He also directed Investigation officers of all police stations to submit monthly report to their concerned magistrates.

Ahmad Raza Tahir informed that an inspector had been deputed to monitor police performance in every court, who would collect necessary information from courts in this regard.

He directed police officers of Operations wing to ensure prompt registration of cases and, in case of any complaint, the concerned SHO would be held responsible. Ahmed Raza Tahir further directed police officers to solve problems of the citizens, visiting police stations, on priority basis, and to show sympathetic attitude towards them.

CCPO further directed keeping a strict watchful eye with regard to security outside the courts, by remaining vigilant against suspicious elements and placing strict ban on bring not firearms in and around the courts. The CCPO warned that the police officials, showing negligence or indulging in corruption would be dealt with an iron hand.
