IG focuses inter-province border checkposts

LAHORE - Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has directed the district police officers (DPOs) to visit the inter-province border check-posts and riverine posts at least once in a month and report to the regional police officers concerned. 

The IGP directed the sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) to visit the check-posts once a week.

Chairing a video-link conference held at Central Police Office, Lahore, on Tuesday, he asked the field officers to keep themselves emotionally attached to their force and take utmost possible steps for the officials' welfare so that they work with more commitment. 

IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said that the riverine posts and inter-province check-posts’ officials, vehicles and motorbikes should not be used for any other purpose.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera directed all the RPOs and DPOs to complete ACRs of police officials and send them to the Central Police Office within a week to precede promotion cases faster.

He directed the officers concerned to arrange the promotion board meetings at the earliest to promote the officials waiting for promotion at the range level.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said the cases for promotion of DSPs to the rank of SP should be sent to the CPO from all ranges without any delay.

The orders of transfers and promotions of police officials should be updated in Human Resource Management System immediately, he ordered.

The officials assigned to these duties should not be transferred frequently and they should have a specific period of service at the same duty, he added.

He appreciated the performance of all RPOs and DPOs for excellent security arrangements during Ashura. He said that despite threats of terror attacks during Ashura, Punjab police proved that they had ability to battle any challenge.
