Punjab Police offer funeral in absentia for Quetta martyrs

Lahore: Funeral in absentia for martyrs of Quetta training college was held at Lahore Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, here on Wednesday.

Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, CCPO Capt (retd) Amin Wains, Punjab Additional IGP Operations Capt (retd) Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP Establishment Dr Arif Mushtaq, Additional IGP Legal, Ali Zulnorain Sheikh, Punjab DIG Operations Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, Lahore DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, DIG Headquarters BA Nasir, DIG IT Shahid Hanif and other senior police officers along with a large number of police jawans offered funeral prayer for martyrs.

After Fateha, the IGP, talking to the media, said that the nation was on one page against terrorism and terrorists cannot weaken our spirits through cowardly acts of violence. Paying tributes to the martyrs and lauding the officials of security forces, he said, ‘I salute the martyrs of Quetta incident and praise the effort of law-enforcement agencies’ officials, who have fought the terrorists by sacrificing their lives. ‘We are with heirs of martyrs and police of Balochistan. He also said, ‘We are committed to fighting against terrorism until the last terrorist is eliminated’.
