LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested two members of a banned outfit from Multan, recovering hand grenades from them.
A CTD spokesman said they received intelligence reports that two suspected terrorists were present in a house near Head Muhammadwala and planning to carry out an attack in Multan. He said a CTD team, after receiving the information, conducted a search operation in and around Muhammadwala village and cordoned off the area.
During the operation, the team arrested two members of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LJ) who were identified as Muhammad Rafeeq and Ali Muhammad.
He said the CTD team also recovered two hand grenades from the suspects and registered a case under section 4/5 ESA and 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
The suspected terrorists were shifted to undisclosed locations for further interrogation, he added.
