IG Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said that timely registration of cases in police stations should be ensured

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that delay in case registration on citizens’ genuine applications will not be tolerated. Timely registration of cases in police stations should be ensured by making monitoring of F.I.R registration more effective. Departmental action should be taken against the SHOs and Circle Officers of the police stations which are being complained regarding late F.I.R registration. IGP also directed DIG I.T and AIG Monitoring to immediately report about such police stations to PSO to IGP and concerned RPO and DPO so that irresponsible officers and officials could be made accountable.
IGP further directed that Criminal Record System should be updated on daily basis and finger prints, pictures, CNIC numbers, addresses and mobile numbers of arrested culprits should immediately be saved into the system on priority basis. IGP said that inquiries on complaints received against police officers and officials should be completed soon and report should be submitted to him in this regard.  
IGP stated this while chairing a high-level meeting held at Central Police Office today. Additional IGP Operations/Investigation Punjab, Capt. (Retired) Arif Nawaz,  Add: IGP Welfare and Finance, Shoaib Dastgir,DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG I.T Shahid Hanif, DIG Development, Kamran Khan, DIG Discipline, Shahzada Sultan, AIG Monitoring, Abdul Ghafar Qaisrani and SP CRO, Imran Yaqoob were also present in the meeting.
SP CRO briefed that 56 criminals involved in serious offences have been arrested after tracing them through matching of finger prints with database of Criminal Record System of Police. IGP further directed that mega matcher should be fully utilized and finger prints saved in database should also be matched with old record.
While briefing the IGP regarding Hotel Eye App, DIG I.T Shahid Hanif told that particulars of 473,000 persons are checked through this app, out of which data of 1476 persons was matched with police database. Out of these 1476 persons, 1179 persons were wanted by police while the rest were in record but not wanted. 11 criminals out of arrested wanted criminals were included in the fourth schedule. During first two months of current year, data of 854 persons was traced which proves the success of Criminal Record Management System Project.
DIG Discipline, Shahzada Sultan briefed the meeting that 30864 applications against police officers and officials were received during last year regarding Slackness in Duty, Faulty investigations, Non-Registration of FIRs and other issues. Out of which 26756 application have been disposed off while inquiries on 4108 applications are under process. IGP directed to complete pending inquiries within one month period.
