LAHORE: Special Protection Unit (SPU) DIG Faisal Rana gave away cash prize and commendatory certificate to a constable who had foiled a murder bid on the Chinese engineers working on CPEC Project in Rahim Yar Khan some days back.
The constable, Zubair, received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and CC2 certificate in a ceremony held at Central Police Office.
Two masked armed men opened indiscriminate firing at the Chinese experts at Shadani Camp on August 4, upon which the constable Zubair from SPU offered resistance and foiled the murder bid on the Chinese engineers.
He managed to overpower the assailants despite receiving wounds during the encounter. The DIG gave away cash prizes and appreciation certificates to two constables Hafiz Tanveer and Qaisar.
