IG Orders Citizens’ Security

LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police retired Capt Arif Nawaz has directed the police officials to ensure security of the citizens in the wake of Eidul Azha.

Addressing a video conference of regional police officers ( RPOs) here on Thursday, the IGP also directed them to ensure security of the buyers visiting major markets for sacrificial animals in the provincial capital.

He said the complaints were surfacing that the buyers were being looted by the swindlers and criminals. He directed the police officers to provide security to the citizens by arresting the criminals involved in this crime.

He further asked the police officers to make sure that only those organisations would collect hides who had been granted permissions by the government.

He also directed them to enhance securities at public places and parks.

During the meeting, the matter of arrest of the criminals wanted in cases all over the province also came under discussion.

Arif Nawaz directed the police officers to intensify crackdown on the criminals listed in the category A.
