IG Punjab called a plenary session of senior police officers of the province

Inspector General of Police Punjab captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan has called the session of all senior police officers of Central Police Office, CCPO Lahore, RPO,s CPOs and DPO, s tomorrow on 5th may at 10:30am Sunday morning in order to share his preferences with all RPO, s & DPO, s regarding timely registration of FIRs, merit based investigation, arrest of proclaimed offenders and making police a welfare force for public in true sense. In this session IG Punjab after reviewing the Crime Data will discuss with RPOs and DPOs regarding the arrest of proclaimed offenders, criminal elements and keeping a close liaison with force and public. He has ordered all officers to bring crime record of their respective districts and to share information about results of arrest of “A” category proclaimed offenders and other crackdowns.

According to the details IG Punjab has started the process of accountability against delay in registration of FIRs and poor investigation of cases and ordered to brief in detail about progress of their respective districts by calling session of all senior police officers. Senior police officers will also present report regarding arrest of proclaimed offenders, general hold up and performance of district complaint officers and front desk. In meeting, a strategic security plan for Ramzan and Ramzan bazaars will also be devised and IGP himself will review these security plans, whereas IG Punjab also sought report of Trainee ASIs and Trainee Sub Inspectors. IT related measures in Punjab Police and performance and progress due to introduction of software’s will also be examined and further strategy will be formulated in this regard whereas collectively directions will be issued regarding discipline and other important issues of Punjab Police.
