Inspector General of Police Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan said that monitoring and surveillance equipped with modern integrated system play a pivotal role in contemporary policing because these systems will continuously monitor sensitive roads and installations which will be helpful in controlling street crime and issues of traffic management. He further said that use of modern technology and modern investigation is the need of time to eliminate conventional police culture and for this purpose Punjab Police is launching smart surveillance systems in different districts of the province so that performance of Police could be further improved despite limited resources and criminals and with better investigation support facilitators should be identified immediately and arrested and also put behind the bars. He moreover said that on the 9th Muharram and Youm e Ashoor police officers and officials should offer their duties at high alert and should also abide by the set SOPs for security arrangements so that the citizens may perform their religious obligations without any trouble. He further said that police officers should not only care about requirements of their subordinates for better performance but also undertake modern and skillful refresher and training courses and workshops so that police may perfectly perform their duties with combination of their experience and modern training. He said it will enhance prestige and honor of department and will a leave a precedent for other officials. These views were expressed by IG Punjab while he was addressing to officers after inauguration of smart and surveillance system project. An active squad of Police paid salutations to IG Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan upon his arrival at DPO office Mianwali after which IG Punjab inaugurated Mehfooz Mianwali project. The project was started from 40 lakh rupees and 66 cameras were installed in city area under this project. The monitoring of important roads, sensitive installation and important public and commercial centers will be done through these cameras. This project has been established with the collaboration and support of public private sector and this state of the art project will be helpful in providing protection to wealth and lives of people along with traffic management. During the address IG Punjab directed to officers to benefit from this project whereas police officers and officials should deal in congenial demeanor and serve the public with full commitment, dedication and hard work and provide best service delivery so that the atmosphere of trust might be further strengthened between police and public.
