Scourge of bribery to be overcome, says AIGP

Bahawalpur - Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) South Punjab Captain (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan has said that the scourge of bribery and corruption is to be overcome.  He said this while addressing the court in Bahawalpur police line. On arrival of Additional Inspector General in Bahawalpur, he was received by Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Zubair Dareshk in the police line. Iqbal Awan laid flowers at the memorial of police martyrs and offered Fateha Khawani which was attended by DPO Bahawalpur Muhammad Faisal Gulzar, DPO Bahawalnagar Zafar Buzdar, DPO Rahim yar Khan Asad Sarfaraz and SP Staff Muhammad Rizwan Khan. Officers of Special Branch, CTD, PHP, Inter Accountability and SPU were also present. He said that the police were with martyrs. The solution to the problems of the family is a priority. The lights of peace are lit by the sacrifices of the police martyrs. He said that the purpose of regular visits to police stations is to improve performance. He said that the increase in the facilities available to the police as compared to the past demanded improvement in efficiency. He said that violence in police custody is not allowed at all. Iqbal Awan said that work is also being done for the welfare of police officers and employees.
